Brisbane, Queensland, Australia (14 km)
Route description: This urban route leads you through lush botanical gardens onto a winding and looping route along the Brisbane river. Near the end, you pass a second botanical garden, and the final stop is at the sir Thomas Brisbane planetarium.
The Australian Time Trek takes you from the Big Bang, through significant events up to the present day. It provides a southern hemisphere perspective, and brings up local Australian geology and features seen only in the southern sky. The route is optimal for a day hike or bicycle trip.
The route waypoints can only be found on the TimeTrek Australia web page. There are no physical plaques or signs along the route.
Arrival: The route begins on Lamington Drive (Gardner’s Point Rd on some maps) next to the Queensland University of Technology Law library (map: NationalMap, GoogleMaps) and ends at the sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium on Mount Coot Tha Road (map: NationalMap, GoogleMaps). We recommend arriving on foot, bicycle, or by using the extensive public transport system in Brisbane.
Partners: The route was actualized by the Cobble Museum.
